Setting up the Netgear DG834G for DynDns.org
To set up the ftp with dynamic dns you will first have to open up your router.
Go down to advanced and set up the dyndns.org information ( this assumes that you have already registered
for a domain name and have a user id and pass from dyndns.org).
Go to Dynamic Dns click on Use a Dynamic Dns Service, choose http://www.dyndns.org/ as the service provider.Put
your host name, password, and user. Check use wildcards on both this systema and the one at dyndns.org.
You will need the internal IP of your webserver for the rest: mine is 192.168.0.5.
Go up to content filtering go to firewall rules and a service, in this case FTP from the select list.
Allow always, send to lan server ( the IP of your machine) 192.168.0.5. Use nothing on Wan and have log
always selected.
Next go to Services and add a custom services you will need to name it something like myftp the type is
tcp/udp start port is the port for ftp 20 finish port 20.
Make sure that when you are done on any section that you hit apply, etc.
That’s it it should work now and you won’t have to go and change your ip at dyndns.org anymore.
